Zone Control for Ducted Air Conditioning
Most ducted heat pumps heat or cool every room at the same temperature, whether anyone is in them or not. Zone heating and cooling systems change that by directing conditioned air only where it’s needed, room by room.

Zone Control Installation for Leading Brands
We offer two zone control systems for ducted air conditioning: the Mitsubishi Electric ZoneIQ and the AirTouch 5. Both use a touchscreen display and smartphone app, but they can better suit different setups.
ZoneIQ is a natural fit for Mitsubishi Electric ducted systems, particularly if you want built-in humidity management alongside precise zone control.
AirTouch 5 suits homes with different brands of ducted equipment, multi-storey homes with more than one system, or anyone who wants deeper smart home integration and energy monitoring.

The Advantages of Adding Zone Control to Your Ducted System
Choosing the right installer matters just as much as choosing the right system. Here’s why homeowners and businesses across Auckland trust us for heat pump installation.
Track and reduce your energy use
Both systems cut running costs by conditioning only the rooms in use rather than the whole home. If you want more visibility into your usage, AirTouch 5 also includes energy monitoring that shows when you've been running the system more than necessary, so you can fine-tune your schedule accordingly.
Set a different temperature for each room
Rather than running the whole home at one setting, zone control lets each space maintain its own target. A bedroom can run cooler than a living area, and a home office can be left off entirely when it's not in use.
Schedule your system around your day
Both ZoneIQ and AirTouch 5 support automated scheduling, so the system runs only when and where it's needed, without you having to remember to turn it on or off.
Control your zones from anywhere
Both ZoneIQ and AirTouch 5 connect wirelessly to a smartphone app, letting you adjust room temperatures, update schedules, and check on your home remotely.
Manage indoor humidity
ZoneIQ's Dry Mode monitors indoor humidity and works to reduce it toward a target you set, helping maintain conditions less favourable to mould and mildew growth

excellent team, installation went very well, I'm very pleased,
would certainly recommend.
Very efficient install, great communication and really easy to deal with. Would recommend to anyone needing heat pumps installed.
Steve and the team provided excellent service from start to finish. Steve came out for a quote within hours of my initial enquiry. He was patient with me bumbling my way around the old aircon and heatpump units and helped me find an economical solution to bring my heating up to Healthy Homes specification and double-checked the assessment to ensure that we chose the right wattage and capacity.
Apart from its utility, the unit, a 73KW Panasonic number looks a million bucks in situ and has subtly facelifted the space on account of being a more modern, white unit.
Regretfully, I have forgotten the name of the technician who came to do the installation but he was excellent and updated the circuitry which will solve some issues with tripping the previous setup had.
They removed the old unit while they were at it and placed the outtake in a better location even though it was a last minute change.
effective product after paying $14,000. Do not recommend.
The installation team were fast, efficient and friendly to chat with, all of the rubbish was removed from the premises and the house was as clean as it possibly could be, in view of the muddy state of the garden. The quote was less than at least two competitors.
The ducting has all been put in the ceiling, so there are no unsightly ducts running all over the place, this is over and above what I thought I was quoted for , furthermore I was relieved to establish that my ceiling was quite clean and that there are no rodents in there (additional free service) which is very much appreciated, based on my fear of the fury little fiends!!!
During the course of the installation, the lawnmower guy came and did the lawns, as he came through the gate, some of the grass and mud splashed onto the white outside wall. Quite some time later, one of the team used the outside hose to clean off his ladder, he noticed the messy wall and used the hose to clean it off, while he was there.
Wow, just wow, it's the little things like that which turn a positive customer experience into an absolutely delightful one!!
I have no hesitation in recommending or even actively encouraging other customers to use this service.
Air Conditioning Group is a credit to all New Zealand installers and I only wish that other companies showed the same pride, expertise and exceptional customer service that I witnessed today.
Signing off, in shorts and a T shirt admiring my beautiful air conditioning with a Pinot Gris!!
Again, thank you for your excellent service!
Penny Cotton & Simba!!
Was upfront at quoting about need for using of powerboats due to size of unit ( and the only persons to do so! ) very very professional.
Regards Caroline W
The recommendation and selection of units to use was done well.
Matt and his install team were helpful, clear and efficient, gave us a head's up on some maintenance he though we might like to look into they noticed when in the roof space (not related to them) also returned to reposition one of our vents after we felt it was in the wrong position with no questions asked or additional cost.
Will definitely use again should the need arise.
Once they arrived at my home, Steve and Matt quickly assessed the situation and provided me with a detailed plan of action. They were able to fix my air conditioning unit in no time at all, and I was blown away by their knowledge and skill.
Not only did Steve and Matt do a fantastic job, but they were also incredibly polite and friendly. They made sure to clean up after themselves and even gave me some tips on how to maintain my air conditioning unit in the future.

Ducted Zone Control FAQs
ZoneIQ is designed specifically for Mitsubishi Electric ducted systems, including the PEAD, PEA, and PEA Splittable series. It is not compatible with other brands. If you have a different brand, AirTouch 5 is compatible with a wider range of equipment.
Contact us to confirm what works with your system.
Yes, with both systems. ZoneIQ allows temperature settings to be adjusted in ±0.5°C increments per zone, using sensors that monitor temperature and humidity in each room.
AirTouch 5 supports optional Intelligent Temperature Sensors (ITS), which can be added to individual rooms to track conditions across multiple points in the home rather than relying on a single reading.
Both systems are designed to help reduce energy use by conditioning only the rooms in use.
AirTouch 5 also includes energy monitoring to help identify when the system is running more than necessary, plus weather adaptation that adjusts or turns off the system based on outside conditions.
Yes. Both ZoneIQ and AirTouch 5 are designed to work with existing ducted HVAC systems. You don't necessarily need a new heat pump to get started. Get in touch, and we'll confirm compatibility with your current setup.
