Our Range of Hot Water Heat Pumps
We supply and install the Mitsubishi Ecodan and AquaCore, two systems built to handle the demands of Kiwi homes year-round.
The Ecodan suits households that want to combine hot water with space heating and cooling in a single unit, including underfloor heating and radiator setups. The AquaCore is designed for straightforward retrofits or new builds, integrating with many existing cylinders and delivering reliable hot water even in sub-zero temperatures.

Why Choose A Hot Water Heat Pump?
Water heating alone makes up around 28% of the average New Zealand power bill. Add space heating to that, and you’re looking at over 67% of your total energy use.
Lower energy costs
Unlike a conventional electric cylinder, a heat pump water heater draws warmth from the outside air rather than generating heat directly, which requires far less electricity to produce the same result.
Year-round performance
Modern air-to-water heat pumps operate efficiently even as temperatures drop, with fast tank recovery to handle peak household demand without running short.
Reduced emissions
A heat pump produces the same amount of hot water using around a third of the electricity of a conventional electric cylinder, making it about three times more energy-efficient.
Smart scheduling
Both the Ecodan and AquaCore support programmable heating cycles to take advantage of off-peak tariffs, with hot water ready when you need it. The Ecodan also includes built-in energy monitoring so you can track consumption over time.
One system for more than just hot water
The Mitsubishi Ecodan combines domestic hot water heating with space heating and cooling in a single outdoor unit, making it suited to underfloor heating and radiators.
Added value to your home
A hot water heat pump system can start reducing your water heating costs from day one. It also provides a broad appeal to energy-conscious buyers. This can offer a strong resale advantage when the time comes to sell.

excellent team, installation went very well, I'm very pleased,
would certainly recommend.
Very efficient install, great communication and really easy to deal with. Would recommend to anyone needing heat pumps installed.
Steve and the team provided excellent service from start to finish. Steve came out for a quote within hours of my initial enquiry. He was patient with me bumbling my way around the old aircon and heatpump units and helped me find an economical solution to bring my heating up to Healthy Homes specification and double-checked the assessment to ensure that we chose the right wattage and capacity.
Apart from its utility, the unit, a 73KW Panasonic number looks a million bucks in situ and has subtly facelifted the space on account of being a more modern, white unit.
Regretfully, I have forgotten the name of the technician who came to do the installation but he was excellent and updated the circuitry which will solve some issues with tripping the previous setup had.
They removed the old unit while they were at it and placed the outtake in a better location even though it was a last minute change.
effective product after paying $14,000. Do not recommend.
The installation team were fast, efficient and friendly to chat with, all of the rubbish was removed from the premises and the house was as clean as it possibly could be, in view of the muddy state of the garden. The quote was less than at least two competitors.
The ducting has all been put in the ceiling, so there are no unsightly ducts running all over the place, this is over and above what I thought I was quoted for , furthermore I was relieved to establish that my ceiling was quite clean and that there are no rodents in there (additional free service) which is very much appreciated, based on my fear of the fury little fiends!!!
During the course of the installation, the lawnmower guy came and did the lawns, as he came through the gate, some of the grass and mud splashed onto the white outside wall. Quite some time later, one of the team used the outside hose to clean off his ladder, he noticed the messy wall and used the hose to clean it off, while he was there.
Wow, just wow, it's the little things like that which turn a positive customer experience into an absolutely delightful one!!
I have no hesitation in recommending or even actively encouraging other customers to use this service.
Air Conditioning Group is a credit to all New Zealand installers and I only wish that other companies showed the same pride, expertise and exceptional customer service that I witnessed today.
Signing off, in shorts and a T shirt admiring my beautiful air conditioning with a Pinot Gris!!
Again, thank you for your excellent service!
Penny Cotton & Simba!!
Was upfront at quoting about need for using of powerboats due to size of unit ( and the only persons to do so! ) very very professional.

The recommendation and selection of units to use was done well.
Matt and his install team were helpful, clear and efficient, gave us a head's up on some maintenance he though we might like to look into they noticed when in the roof space (not related to them) also returned to reposition one of our vents after we felt it was in the wrong position with no questions asked or additional cost.
Will definitely use again should the need arise.
Once they arrived at my home, Steve and Matt quickly assessed the situation and provided me with a detailed plan of action. They were able to fix my air conditioning unit in no time at all, and I was blown away by their knowledge and skill.
Not only did Steve and Matt do a fantastic job, but they were also incredibly polite and friendly. They made sure to clean up after themselves and even gave me some tips on how to maintain my air conditioning unit in the future.

Hot Water Heat Pump FAQs
The AquaCore system is designed to integrate with many existing hot water cylinders, which means a full cylinder replacement isn't always necessary.
Whether your current setup is suitable is something we assess during the quote process.
Unlike a conventional electric cylinder, which generates heat directly from an element, a heat pump hot water system draws warmth from the outside air using a refrigeration cycle, via a smaller fraction of the electricity to produce the same result.
Given that water heating accounts for around 28% of the average Kiwi power bill, that efficiency difference has a real impact on running costs.
Yes. The AquaCore system has fast cold-tank recovery and is designed to deliver reliable hot water even in sub-zero temperatures.
The Mitsubishi Ecodan range is also engineered to perform in colder climates, with the Zubadan Series maintaining full capacity at temperatures as low as -15°C.
Both systems in our range are made to suit New Zealand conditions year-round.
Yes. The Ecodan range combines domestic hot water heating, space heating and cooling into one system and is suited to underfloor heating and radiators. Pool and spa heating is also possible with the right configuration.
If you're planning to use the system for more than one application, particularly in a new build, it's worth raising that during the assessment process so we can size everything correctly.
